CodeBox Lockbox Operating Procedures
This document outlines the standard operating procedures for operating and programming Tenant Turner digital CodeBox lockboxes.
Core Operating Procedures
1. Open the Key Compartment Door
Requirement: 5-digit Vendor/Door Code
- Enter your 5-digit Door Code on the keypad.
- Press the ENTER button.
- Press firmly inward and downward on the key door above the keypad. The latch will release, and the door will spring open, revealing the key compartment.
2. Remove the Lockbox (Release Shackle)
Requirement: 5-digit Shackle Code
- Enter your 5-digit Shackle Code (different from the Door Code) on the keypad.
- Press the ENTER button.
- Push the top shackle downward slightly into the lockbox to release the internal latch.
- Pull the shackle straight up and out to remove the lockbox from the door handle or railing.
3. Change the Internal Battery
Requirement: 1 new 9V lithium battery
- Open the key compartment door by following Step 1.
- Locate the battery compartment door inside the lockbox.
- Slide or unscrew the battery compartment cover to access the old 9V battery.
- Remove the old battery and securely connect the new 9V lithium battery, ensuring the correct polarity.
- Place the battery back into the compartment, secure the cover, and test the code before closing the main door.
Dead Battery Jump-Start Trick: If the internal battery is completely dead and the keypad does not light up, you can jump-start the lockbox. Locate the external battery port terminals at the bottom of the lockbox. Hold a fresh 9V battery firmly against the external terminals to temporarily power the keypad. Enter your door code to open the lockbox, then immediately replace the internal battery.
