Contractor Score

Understanding Your Contractor Score

The Contractor Score is part of Inspectify's Analytics tab, designed to help you understand and track your performance on our platform. This article explains what the Contractor Score is, how it's calculated, and how you can improve it.

What is the Contractor Score?

Your Contractor Score is a number out of 100 that reflects how consistently you complete and deliver jobs on time, and how accurately and thoroughly you produce your reports. It is calculated based on your activity from the last 30 days.

In addition to your score, the Analytics tab also shows:

  • The total count of jobs completed in the last 30 days
  • The proportion of those jobs that included a late report, self-initiated reschedule/cancellation, or a report quality issue
  • A list of issues currently impacting your score.

Factors Affecting Your Contractor Score

Your Contractor Score is affected by two categories of issues: scheduling & delivery and report quality.

Scheduling & Delivery

The following self-initiated actions impact your score:

  • Late Report → A report published more than 24 hours after the first question is answered.
  • Self-Initiated Reschedule → Any time you reschedule a confirmed job.
  • Self-Initiated Cancellation → Any time you cancel a confirmed job.

Note: Customer-initiated cancellations and reschedules do not impact your score.

Report Quality

Report quality issues are flagged by our Ops Support team when reviewing completed reports and will impact your Contractor Score.

The following report quality issues affect your score:

  • Visible Defect Missed → A non-cosmetic defect visible in report photos was not documented in the Deficiency Tool.
  • Roof Inspection Quality → The roof was not walked or drone-inspected, and no adequate limitation was added.
  • Incomplete Documentation → Areas visible in the walkthrough video or floor plan are missing from the report.
  • Marked Visible Item As Not Present → An item clearly visible in report photos was marked as not present or skipped without a valid explanation.
  • Electrical Panel Not Removed → A licensed inspector did not remove the panel cover and did not add a limitation explaining why.
  • Instructions Missed → Template instructions, client-specific requirements, or Community Guidelines were not followed.
  • Report Discrepancies → Contradictory information appears within the same report.
  • Defect Noted Incorrectly → A defect was documented in General Notes or question responses instead of the Deficiency Tool.
  • Incomplete Video Walkthrough → The walkthrough video misses areas, lacks required narration, is too short/fast, or is poor quality.
  • Unnecessary Additional Photos → Photos are duplicated, irrelevant to the section, show the wrong appliance tags, or were taken at a different property.
  • OCR Not Verified → Appliance data in the report does not match the appliance tag photo.
  • Excessive Custom Defect Usage → A high volume of custom defects were used when defect library options were available.
  • Professionalism → Unprofessional or inaccurate language used within the report or video narration — for example, using "Mold" instead of "Mold-like substance" or "Biological growth," or other inappropriate commentary in notes or defect descriptions.

  • Follow all template instructions and Community Guidelines for each inspection type.
  • Verify appliance tag data matches what you've entered before publishing.
