What do I need to know about CubiCasa Floor Plans?

Inspectify uses CubiCasa for all Floor Plan scans completed on our platform.

  • Do NOT use iPads to complete CubiCasa scans.  While iPads are listed as a supported device by CubiCasa, the data will be inaccurate and invalid if completed on an iPad.

Getting Started

  • Inspections that also include a Floor Plan will generally be scheduled on the same date and time, which means you will find them on the same job card in both the Dashboard and the Inspectify Home Inspection App

  • In the Inspectify Home Inspection App, the job will feature two templates that are combined together: a home inspection template and the CubiCasa template. Even though there is CubiCasa template for the job, the actual floor plan scan must be performed on the CubiCasa app. The template features a description with directions including Inspectify’s login credentials.

  • CubiCasa works on many mobile devices, please check the list in the link below to confirm the device you will be using is supported:

The CubiCasa Experience

  • Once you are ready to perform the floor plan scan on the home, open up the CubiCasa app and enter in the credentials provided to log in to continue. Our Ops team will collect the completed report from CubiCasa after the scan has been uploaded, which can take up to 24 hours but can take longer when there are several flags on the review.

    Steps to start scanning:

    • Select "Scan a space"
    • On the Address screen, manually enter in the property’s address. (Do not use the Use my current location option)
    • Select the appropriate property type for the home
    • Read through the tips on the "Before we start" screen and then select I understand when you are ready to proceed
    • Rotate your device to landscape orientation, then proceed to scan the property


    Steps to review and submit the floor plan scan

    • On the Order Preview screen, select Review scan to check the quality of the scan. CubiCasa’s software will flag potential issues in the review
    • Once you are done reviewing the scan, on the Orders screen select Send. This will also save the scan to your device
    • On the Order Options screen, select the hello@getinspectify.com Inspectify account, then select Next to start uploading the scan
    • The scan will begin uploading.  The progress will be displayed on the Uploading Scan screen
    •  You will receive a confirmation popup once the order has been successfully uploaded. Click Ok to confirm and dismiss the popup.
    • On the Order Preview screen, the status for the property is updated to pending. You have completed the floor plan scan and upload.
    • Return back to the Inspectify Home Inspection app to complete the floor plan question in the CubiCasa system of the template by selecting Yes

  • What is CubiCasa?
    • CubiCasa is an app that allows users to scan and capture floor plans on their mobile device
  • Will the floor plan scan be done on the Inspectify app?
    • The floor plan will be done using the CubiCasa app
  • How do I submit the floor plan to Inspectify once I’ve completed the inspection?
    • You do not need to anything after completing the scan and uploading the order. Refer to the Steps to Review and Submit Floor Plan Scan section for the steps to submit the order.

  • What are the best practices to follow when using CubiCasa?

  • Where do I sign up for CubiCasa? Do I have to pay for it?
    • Inspectify will provide login credentials to perform the floor plan scan so there is no need to sign up. Just download the CubiCasa app and you are set.
  • Can I sign up with my own credentials?
    • Inspectify’s login credentials can only be used for Inspectify booked jobs. If you would like to use CubiCasa for your other clients, you will need to create your own separate account and pay any associated fees.
  • How much additional time do I need to allot for the floor plan?
    • Scans typically take ~15 minutes to complete, however, larger square footage properties or properties with several tight spaces may take a little extra time to complete.
  • How long does it take for CubiCasa to process the scans into floorplans?
    • It takes ~24 hours, dependent on the size of the property and the quality of the scan sent. To learn more click here.
