Adding, editing, and removing recommendations on deficiencies.
After selecting a deficiency to assign, you will see the Recommendation section on the Add deficiency screen under the deficiency description.
You can add a recommendation in two ways:
- Select the Recommendation checkbox, and then click on at least one of the three options (Evaluation, Repair / Replace, Monitor).
- Click on at least one of the recommendation options (Evaluation, Repair / Replace, Monitor).
When a recommendation is selected, a text box will appear with a default comment for the respective recommendation. In the inspection report, the recommendation comment is added to the deficiency and will appear as one cohesive statement.
Adding a recommendation to a deficiency
The recommendation (highlighted) is appended at the end of the deficiency comment in the inspection report.
Can I select more than one recommendation option?
Yes, you can select one, two, or all three options if it makes sense for the deficiency. There are default recommendation comments for each combination selected that can be edited.
Do I have to use the default recommendation option?
No, you do not have to use the default recommendation comment in the text box.
The text box is editable, so you can modify the comment, add additional comments such as implication statements, or write an entirely new one. To edit, tap on the text box.
Is a recommendation statement required?
No, it is not required, but you have the option to add one. By default, a recommendation statement will not be included.
How do I remove a recommendation statement from a deficiency?
Deselect the Recommendation checkbox to not include a recommendation.
I selected the wrong recommendation for a deficiency. How do I change it?
Deselect by tapping the recommendation you no longer wish to include.
