How to Document: Not Present or Cannot Inspect
Use this guidance to quickly and accurately document inspection items that are not present or cannot be inspected.
How does it work?
When documenting an item during an inspection, select the appropriate option based on the situation:
Not Present: Use this when the subsystem does not exist in the home. Selecting this option will return you to the main page showing all subsystems.
When "Not present" is selected.
Cannot Inspect: Use this when the item is present but cannot be inspected. A Limitation search box will appear, allowing you to select the reason for the restriction.
When "Cannot inspect" is selected.
Note: Adding a photo and note to the limitation helps provide clear details about what prevented the inspection. Attaching photos or videos is recommended, and in some cases required, to support the selected option.
When I select "Not present" or "Cannot inspect", is that considered a limitation?
Yes. When "Cannot inspect" is selected and a limitation is chosen from the library, the system automatically records it as a limitation and it will appear as such in the final report.
Items marked as "Not present" are documented differently and are not treated as inspection limitations in the same way.
Because limitations are now tied directly to the "Cannot inspect" selection, they are captured through that workflow rather than appearing separately in a dedicated Limitation section within the app.
