FAQ: Re-Inspections

Why is the re-inspection process being updated?

Re-inspections are being updated for several purposes:

  • Produce higher quality reports: Re-inspections provide a detailed snapshot of the state of the home throughout the build-out process. This helps to alleviate ambiguity between clients, builders, and inspectors by providing more accurate and comprehensive information.
  • Increase accountability: Re-inspection templates now help to hold builders more accountable for addressing and resolving issues found during the initial and subsequent inspections, resulting in higher quality reports and property build outs.
  • Improved transparency: Additional photo captures are now integrated into the re-inspection template, offering clients a clearer understanding of the property's progress and state throughout construction.

What changes have been made to the re-inspection process?

The re-inspection process has undergone the following changes:

Process updates

The re-inspection process will continue to focus on verifying defects found during the initial inspection. Based on the template being used, you may now be asked to answer a limited number of question prompts again to confirm their current state.

Photo capture requirements

As part of the re-inspection process, you may be asked to capture follow-up photos of rooms and appliances. These photos provide a detailed snapshot of the home throughout the build process, helping provide clarity and reduce ambiguity for clients, builders, and inspectors. This may increase re-inspection time, so please keep this in mind when scheduling appointments for the day.

User Interface (UI) enhancements

To support these changes, we have made improvements to the platform to help you quickly identify which items contain defects and/or the number of questions and media required. The layout looks similar to any other inspection but will now include the following icons as identifiers:
