Inspectify: Overview for New Inspectors & Surveyors

This article provides a high-level overview of how Inspectify works, what to expect during onboarding, the documents and requirements needed, and how to operate successfully on the platform.

About Inspectify

Inspectify is a technology platform that connects field professionals with property inspection and data-collection jobs nationwide. We partner with inspectors and surveyors to complete a variety of property evaluations for homeowners, buyers, renters, real estate professionals, and institutional clients.

Our platform provides a one-stop shop to receive job offers, accept the ones that work for your schedule, and get paid. When you receive an offer you’ll see where the job is, the estimated time to complete, and the pay. Accept the jobs that work for you, decline the ones that don’t. No negotiations, no hassle. For the jobs you accept, you’ll complete the inspections and submit your reports right in our app.

Before You Join

  • Inspectify does not guarantee job volume.
  • Contractors are independent and responsible for maintaining their own licenses and insurance, when applicable.
  • Contractors choose which jobs to accept.
  • Pay is shown before a job is accepted.
  • Completing onboarding does not guarantee immediate access to jobs.
  • Job availability depends on demand in your market.

Joining our Platform

Our interest form can be found at www.inspectify.com/inspector. Click join now and you’ll see the option to sign up as a surveyor or a professional home inspector. Please read the requirements below to confirm which role you are qualified for.

Inspectors

  • Hold a valid state home inspector license in states where home inspection is regulated.
  • In states where home inspection is not state-regulated, hold an InterNACHI or ASHI certification.
  • Must carry Commercial General Liability Insurance with a minimum of $250,000 per occurrence (or your state’s minimum, whichever is greater); Professional Liability/E&O is not required and cannot take the place of General Liability Insurance.
  • Must submit a valid W-9.
  • Must sign the Master Inspection & Services Agreement.

If you need assistance in confirming your state requirements, please reach out to our onboarding team at partnerships@inspectify.com.

Surveyors

  • Must submit a valid W-9.
  • Must sign the Master Inspection & Services Agreement.
  • Must pass a background check. The background check invitation is sent via Checkr only once a need is confirmed in your area.
  • Certification, licensing, or insurance is not required, but insurance is recommended.

What Happens After You Apply

Once your sign-up form is submitted, you will be able to create a login and access your dashboard. We recommend accessing your dashboard from a web browser to complete sign-up, as some actions can only be completed in a web browser. After all of the necessary tasks have been completed and all of your forms have been submitted, our team reviews your application. If your application satisfies the requirements and there is a need in your area, your profile will be activated, completing your onboarding. Once onboarded, you’ll receive a Welcome email confirming that you are onboarded. At this time, double-check that you have push notifications turned on, as job offers are delivered through the Inspectify app via push notifications.

If you have confirmed that all steps are complete and are wondering “what’s next,” your application will remain in the applicant pool until our team completes the required review. If your profile is complete but there is not currently a need in your area, we will retain your application and reach out as demand increases.

Master Inspection & Services Agreement

All Inspectors and Surveyors must sign the Master Inspection & Services Agreement (MISA) in order to complete onboarding and begin receiving job offers. The agreement outlines the scope of work, platform expectations, payment terms, and general responsibilities when completing inspections or surveys through Inspectify. The agreement can be found on your dashboard when using a web browser.

Conflict of Interest Considerations

If you currently work for a franchise or branch-based inspection company, you are responsible for verifying whether your employer has any conflict of interest or restrictions related to working with outside platforms. Many companies allow independent contracting, but some may have limitations in place.

You should review your employment agreement or speak with your manager/owner to confirm you are permitted to perform contract work with Inspectify.

Inspectify does not monitor or manage employer-specific rules, so it is the responsibility of each inspector or surveyor to ensure that signing the MISA does not violate any agreements they already have in place.

Job Type & Booking Information

We offer a range of inspection services with varying experience and qualification requirements. You will only receive job offers for services you are eligible to perform based on your profile. If a job appears on your dashboard, you are eligible to complete it. You may also receive offers for jobs that require fewer qualifications than you currently have.

For Inspectors: You are responsible for keeping your ancillary inspection services up to date.

For an overview of common inspection types, select your contractor type from the Help Center Home Page and navigate to the “Inspection Type” section in the sidebar.

How the Job Queue Works

Jobs appear in your Dashboard based on your service area, qualifications, and client demand. Each job offer will show the job type, pay, location, and appointment time.

You can claim jobs directly from the queue and there is never a penalty for declining a job.

Job Volume Expectations

Job volume depends on:

  • Your location

  • Your role (inspector vs. surveyor)

  • Client demand in your area

  • Current market conditions

There is no guarantee of volume, but staying active, responsive, and within a wide service radius increases job availability.

Pricing Overview

Pricing varies by job type, region, and market conditions. Rates may also differ based on job scope and property size. You will be able to view the pay for a job on the notification screen and in your dashboard before accepting it.

Payments

When completing an inspection, publishing your report will automatically initiate payment. For more details on payment processing timeline, options for fast pay, and more, review the How and When Do I Get Paid? help article.

Since payments are automated, there is no need to invoice Inspectify, saving you time!

Community Guidelines & Communication Expectations

Frequently Asked Questions

I submitted an interest form, why haven’t I heard anything back?

Once submitted, your information is placed in our applicant pool. Please ensure all required documents and onboarding checklist items are completed to push your application forward to review. If all items have been completed and you have not heard from our team, there may not currently be a need in your area. We will keep your application on file in case things change.

I received confirmation I’m onboarded, why haven’t I gotten any job offers?

First, make sure you have the Inspectify app downloaded and push notifications enabled, as job offers are delivered through the Inspectify app via push notifications. If you have push notifications enabled and are still not receiving offers, check your service radius to see if increasing it may provide access to additional job opportunities. Keep in mind that job availability fluctuates based on demand, and Inspectify does not guarantee job volume.

How many job offers can I expect per week?

Job volume varies based on your coverage area, performance, client demand, seasonality, and the number of active inspectors or surveyors in your market. There is no guaranteed number of job offers per week.

How do payments work?

Payments are issued per completed inspection, not hourly. Rates depend on job type, market conditions, and property size.

Click here to find out more about how payments work.

Does the pay include gas mileage/travel distance?

Our goal is always for job offers to be accepted as locally as possible. Where travel pay is being offered, it will be automatically built into the price offered with the job on your dashboard. No negotiations, no confusion.

What liability coverage do I need?

Inspectors must carry General Liability Insurance with a minimum of $250,000 per occurrence, or your state’s minimum, whichever is greater. Inspectify does not require Professional Liability/E&O.

Surveyors are not required to carry insurance, though it is recommended.

Does Inspectify pay for surveyors who want to become licensed inspectors?

No. Inspectify does not sponsor or reimburse licensing, certification, or education costs. If a surveyor chooses to pursue inspector licensing or certification, that investment is made independently. We cannot guarantee increased job volume solely based on obtaining additional credentials.

Can I continue serving my own clients?

Yes. You are free to maintain and grow your personal client base.
