This is a media only site survey which consists of images of the electric meter, electrical main panel, subpanel, and roof of the home. This guide will help you understand how to find and document the necessary details correctly in the report.

Electric Meter Location

Step 1: Locate the electric meter outside.
Step 2: From a distance, take a picture of the area where the meter is located.

Step 1: Locate the meter outside of the home.
Step 2: Take a close-up photo of the entire meter showing the meter readings, identifiers, meter numbers, and barcodes.
Step 3: Frame the image so the entire panel fits within it.

Electrical Panel Location

Step 1: Locate the electrical panel. It is usually outside the home but can also be found in the basement, garage, utility room, closet, or hallway.
Step 2: From a distance, take a picture of the area where the panel is located.

Note: If the panel is located under the meter, you can open it from the bottom corners, even if there's an electrical tag on the upper half of the meter.

Step 2: Take an image of the entire electrical panel up close.

Note: The picture should clearly show the value of the main switch, as this is a crucial detail for the report. The value is engraved on the side of the switch.

Step 2: From a distance, please take a photo showing the interior panel's location.

Step 2: Please take 2 photos: one of the breaker showing its amperage capacity (the number is located directly on the front or side of the switch and usually followed by the letter "A"), and another of the label displaying the same value.

What if the home only has one panel present? If the home only has one panel (main), then please capture the necessary pictures according to the template and mark the subpanel as "not present."
