What do I need to know about 360° Photo Sphere?
360° Photo Sphere is a new feature that allows inspectors to capture immersive, 360-degree panoramic images of rooms during property inspections.
How does it work?
You can easily capture a 360° Photo Sphere directly from your phone using the Inspectify app. When initiating a 360° Photo Sphere capture, a tutorial prompt will appear with helpful tips to guide you as the camera opens. After reviewing the tutorial, you can begin the capture by selecting a starting point—align the white circle inside the hole of the green rectangle and hold the camera steady. This will capture the first angle of the room. Repeat this process as you move the camera to different capture points around the room. An indicator on the white circle will point to the nearest capture point to guide you. Once all photo angles are captured, the camera will automatically close, completing the scan.
Helpful Tips:
- Hold the camera steady while capturing each angle. Excessive shaking may result in errors and require you to restart the scan.
-
- To ensure the best quality, align both the white circle inside the green rectangle and the outer white rectangle before capturing each point.
- To ensure the best quality, align both the white circle inside the green rectangle and the outer white rectangle before capturing each point.
How can I view the Photo Sphere tutorial at my own pace?
Automatic playback:
When you click on a Photo Sphere requirement, the tutorial will automatically start playing. To view it at your own pace, select the "Full Tutorial" option on the screen. This will open the tutorial in full-screen mode, allowing you to scroll through each step.
How many photo angles do I need to capture for a 360° Photo Sphere?
The number of photos required depends on your device. Devices with a wide-angle lens will need fewer capture points than to devices without one.
At the bottom of the camera view, you'll see a series of dots and a total count indicating the number of photo angles needed. This count will decrease as each angle is successfully captured:
- Gray dot: Indicates a photo angle that has not yet been captured.
- White dot: Represents the current angle you're capturing.
- Green dot: Confirms a successful capture of the photo angle.
How do I know how many 360° Photo Spheres need to be captured?
The total number of 360° Photo Spheres required is displayed in each subsystem as a new icon showing the count as a ratio (e.g., "0/2" for zero completed out of two required). This icon is located alongside other key indicators, such as the question count, photo count, and appliance count (if applicable).
Why am I seeing a popup saying "Alignment Issue Detected"?
This message appears when your device is moving too fast or erratically during the 360° Photo Sphere capture. Moving too quickly can affectthe quality of the photo, so you'll need to recapture it.
To ensure a high-quality capture, start at a fixed point and slowly rotate your device to the next position, making sure it's properly aligned.
